This is a music video for a piece of classical instrumental piano, written and performed by Italian composer Livia Gloria De Angelis.
The animation and story are designed especially for small children, as a sort of lullaby. The concept was to animate static illustrations and create a soft, calm atmosphere, as the music suggests—gentle as snow falling from the sky.
I developed the video using Adobe After Effects and Premiere. The drawings are scanned originals made with gouache and pencils.
This video participated in a contest and was selected as one of the top 15 videos to be featured in the international exhibition MuVi6: Video and Moving Image on Synesthesia and Visual Music at the VIII International Congress Synaesthesia: Science & Art.
The work has been published in a book featuring selected works from the MuVi6 exhibition.
